Hi, I’m Brad.

I'm Brad Jackson, a software developer who has spent most of the last fifteen years building web products for other people, and the evenings and early mornings building things for myself.

These days that mostly means Shapio, an open-source CMS for people who would rather ship than babysit their tooling, and Roariverse, a small collection of games I make with and for my two daughters.

Along the way I've shipped a handful of smaller tools, like Stackpeek and PortScannerPro, usually because I needed them and could not find one that did the job without a sign-up wall.

I care about software that feels calm: fast responses, forgiving forms, honest copy, and keyboard shortcuts that work the way you expect. I write about that here, along with notes on tools, family, and the occasional dragon.

I live in the US with my wife, our two girls, and an amount of LEGO that is frankly a structural concern. If you want to say hello, the best way is to reply to something I've written.
